Being aware of the personal benefits of a plant-based diet, Natalie follows a fresh plant-based diet. She always prefers eating fresh and organic fruits and vegetables. She also gives extra care in knowing what is exactly in her food wherever she goes or when it comes to processed foods.
Portman prefers to have oatmeal or avocado toast in the morning. She takes lots of salads consisting of iron-rich vegetables and fruits. As she does not take dairy products, for the source of iron, she drinks almond milk and eats leafy vegetables. She does hate junk food and tries to ignore them as much as possible. Broccoli and apple are her favorite foods. Her ideal dinner includes pasta. Along with that, she drinks lots of water to flush out the toxins and impurities.
Portman also takes vitamin supplements such as Vitamin D everyday and Vitamin B12 shots once a month as she believes that they are difficult to get from plant-only sources.
Once a week, she treats herself to a beer or a glass of wine in the evening.
Her diet mostly includes:
Proteins: Lentils and beans, raw nuts and nut butter, tofu and Greek yogurt
Carbohydrates: Steel cut oatmeal with organic fruit, brown rice and sweet potatoes, whole grains and quinoa
Fibres and other nutrients: Spinach, kale, squash, asparagus, eggplant, onions, peppers zucchini, cucumbers, romaine, and all other green vegetables.
Her diet excludes meat, fish, dairy, eggs, animal products, junk foods, artificial additives, and processed foods.
In an interview she mentioned that she went back to eating eggs and dairy during her pregnancies, but post-pregnancy she switched back to plant-based diets.

Natalie used to have pancakes and veggie burgers before going to any event, as she does not prefer eating any junk food due to the unavailability of healthy snacks. She also loves to eat black beans and tofu burgers.
